The NEMO (laNguagE Modules develOpment) project has been funded by the European Commission (EC) within the European Defence Fund (EDF) between 2024 and 2029 with Grant Agreement no. 101167770.
The NEMO project (laNguagE Modules develOpment) develops a system to perform a variety of Human Language Technologies (HLTs) including speech recognition, handwritten and printed documents recognition, keywords spotting, information retrieval, semantic analysis, named entity recognition, summarisation, and translation to all official EU languages. The system will have the form of a demonstrator and will be tailored on the needs of the defence sector. These functionalities will be adapted to the defence domain enabling them to deal with military-specific vocabulary and related semantics.
The NEMO multinational consortium includes Norway (SINTEF), Italy (Z&P, ICSA, TECOMS), Spain (ETRA), France (Kairntech, DRI), Finland (Lingsoft, VTT), Austria (Read-Coop, University of Innsbruck), Netherlands (Transfortec), Bulgaria (AFCEA Sofiaβ Chapter), and Romania (National Defence University βCarol Iβ).
