𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
We are excited to share that the kick-off meeting for 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗘𝗠𝗢 took place on January 28-29, 2025, in the vibrant city of 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲, 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆. This collaborative initiative, focused on advancing 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗛𝗟𝗧𝘀) 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, marks an important step toward enhancing critical defence capabilities in the EU.
NEMO is funded under the European Defence Fund and will develop a system to perform a variety of HLTs including 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, keywords spotting, information retrieval, semantic analysis, 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, summarisation, and 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 to all official EU languages. The system will have the form of a demonstrator and will be tailored on the needs of the defence sector. These functionalities will be adapted to the defence domain enabling them to deal with military-specific vocabulary and related semantics.
